Objective:
Drilling job done for taking soil samples from various depths. Usually done in addition to hole Sondir obtained for correlations between soil strength and type of soil it contains. The maximum depth that can be done by hand drill is 10 meters and only for soft soil.
Equipment:
- Iwan auger
- Stang drill
- Player handlebar drill
- Crowbar
- Wenworth Scale
Procedure
- Prayer before begins
- Clean the area around the hole to be drilled.
- Put on the handlebar auger drill and plug the dial.
- Press the auger into the ground while playing, after soil samples to the brim and then fill auger auger removed carefully.
- Remove the soil samples from the auger to make the soil type and description of the materials they contain.
- Observe the type of land with wenworth scale and soil concistency (color, humidity, and violence of soil)
- Clean the drill
- Repeat procedures 3 and 4 until the desired depth is reached. Soil samples were obtained is not the original soil samples (disturbed sample) and only used for the purposes of classification and description of the land.
- Write down all the survey results.
- Clean all equipment
- Return all equipment in place

- Clean the drill bit and stangnya after each use and coat with enough oil to avoid rust.
- Before use, sample tubes must be clean and lubricated the inside so that the soil can enter and exit with ease.
